Common questions
How do you calculate fuel cost per mile for a truck?
Divide the diesel price per gallon by the truck's miles per gallon. At $4.50/gal and 6.5 mpg that's about $0.69 per mile of fuel. Enter your price and mpg above.
What is a good mpg for a semi truck?
A loaded Class 8 truck commonly runs 6-7 mpg; 6.5 is a reasonable mid-fleet reference. Lighter loads and steady highway miles do better, heavy loads and terrain worse.
